My Life with the Walter Boys is an American teen drama television series that premiered on Netflix on December 7, 2023.[1][2] The coming-of-age drama is an adaptation of Ali Novak's 2014 novel of the same name, which was first published on Wattpad.[3] The series follows recently-orphaned Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a teenage girl from Manhattan who relocates to rural Colorado after she is taken in by the Walters, a family of seven sons and one daughter.[4] The series was developed by Melanie Halsall. It stars Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, Ashby Gentry and Alisha Newton.[5] In December 2023, the series was renewed for a second season.[6]

- Ashby Gentry as Alex Walter, a Walter boy who is a bookish nerd and the other side of the love triangle with Jackie

Nathaniel Arcand plays another recurring character, Mato Summerhill, who is the father of Skylar and advocates for his First Nations heritage.

Production
Sony Pictures Television and iGeneration Studios are producing My Life with the Walter Boys, following iGeneration Studios' acquisition of Komixx Entertainment.[7] Ed Glauser, who was the executive producer for Netflix's The Kissing Booth film series, joined production alongside showrunner and executive producer Melanie Halsall.[8]
Filming for the series began in March 2022, in Alberta, Canada, and concluded by September 2022.[9][10][11]
Production for the series took place across Alberta, with filming locations in the city of Calgary, the town of Cochrane, and the town of Crossfield.[12][13][14][15] On December 19, 2023, Netflix renewed the series for a second season.[6]

My Life with the Walter Boys was released on December 7, 2023.[2]
Reception
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 40% approval rating with an average rating of 5.1/10, based on 10 critic reviews.[16] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 50 out of 100 based on 6 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".[17]
