The Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST; 华中科技大学) is a public university located in Wuhan, Hubei, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of China. The university is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction.

History

The school was established in 2000 by the merger of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology (predecessor was Huazhong Institute of Technology founded in 1952), then Tongji Medical University (同济医科大学; predecessor was the German Medical School founded by German doctor Erich Paulun in 1907), and then Wuhan Urban Construction College (武汉城市建设学院; predecessor was the Central South School of Architectural Engineering founded in 1952).[3][4]
