Post Proper Northside, also known as Post Proper North or Barangay 30, is one of the barangays of Taguig, a city in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Established as a barangay under Makati in 1972, it consists of most of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) which is under the de facto administration of neighboring Taguig, that claims it as its own territory under its own barangay Fort Bonifacio, as well as a small area north of the business district which includes the Makati City Jail.[2]

In April 2023, the disputed barangays outside the BGC was placed under the de jure jurisdiction of Taguig, with an official transition and handover from Makati to Taguig expected to happen.[3][4] In October 2023, the Department of the Interior and Local Government issued a memorandum to order the transfer the barangay, alongside Post Proper Southside and the Embo barangays, to Taguig.[5] However, the barangay government still considers itself as part of Makati.

Geography

The administrative division claims an area of 2.376 square kilometers (0.917 sq mi).[6] The entire area is currently under the jurisdiction of Taguig, mostly overlapping its barangay Fort Bonifacio. Most of Bonifacio Global City is covered by the barangay, although it is officially a part of barangay Fort Bonifacio. The non-overlapping portion, meanwhile, is a small area located between barangays Cembo and West Rembo which consists of Makati City Jail, Teachers' Compound, and Villa Kalayaan, all situated to the north of Kalayaan Avenue.

Demographics

As per the 2020 census by the Philippine Statistics Authority, the barangay has a population of 57,940, making it the second most populous barangay of Makati.[7]
