The Rajasthani language movement has been campaigning for greater recognition for the Rajasthani language since 1947.
History
Rajasthani language movement is one of the longest continuous language movement in India without any major recognition. In 1925 local newspaper Tarun Rajasthan first demanded the recognition of Rajasthani. On 1st September 1944 Jai Narayan Vyas (former Chief Minister - Rajasthan) presented a memorandum to the Purushottam Das Tandon Committee to declare Rajasthani language as a regional language, and this movement was called a mass movement. At the same time, in the year 1944 itself, a big gathering of the All India Rajasthani Literature Conference took place in Dinajpur (Bengal). 5:45:38
And this work was entrusted to litterateur Suganesh Joshi. The movement for recognition of Rajasthani language has been going on since the time of this literary conference. This flame of movement is continuously burning due to the efforts of Rajasthani litterateurs and conscious language lovers. Yes! This movement never took the form of strike, bandh, arson or sabotage and that form was also not acceptable to the eminent persons associated with the recognition of Rajasthani language. Even if intermittently, this movement has been flowing and today it has taken significant steps towards becoming a mass movement. The result of that is that today the voice of Rajrathani recognition has started rising from every village. Every effort made in the long history of recognition of Rajasthani language is praiseworthy but the period of last 15 years has been more active. The efforts made after independence can be listed in this order: 1 Former Maharaja of Bikaner and former MP Dr. Karnisinghji made a private motion in the Lok Sabha twice on 14 March 1960 and 16 February 1968 to include Rajasthani language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Members introduced bills. Similarly, MP Dr. Laxmimal Singhvi introduced private bills twice in the Lok Sabha in 1987 and in the Rajya Sabha in 1965. [2] Rajasthani language got the status of Academy language by Sahitya Akadegi Delhi and the first National Award was announced by Central Sahitya Akademi in 1974. This award was given on 'Baataan Ri Phulwadi' of Padmashree Vijaydan Detha, the top signature of Rajasthani story world, which was a very pleasant moment for Rajasthani lovers. Along with this, Rajasthani departments were established in Jainarayan Vyas University, Jodhpur and Mohanlal Sukha University, Udaipur. Rajasthani litterateurs started celebrating 21st February as Myadbhasha Divas, which is celebrated today by the United Nations as Mother Language Day all over the world. On 3rd year 1983, the independent academy of Rajrathani language 'Rajasthani Language, Literature and Culture Academy' was established in the state, whose headquarter was kept at Bikaner. 4. On July 22, 1992, many leaders including MP Justice Gumanmal Lodha, MP Balram Jakhar MP Nathuram Mirdha, Maharaja Gajsingh Jodhpur Onkarsingh Lakhawat Padam Mehta, Ramniwas Lakhotia Vijaydan Detha, Kalyansingh Shekhawat, MLA Jogeshwar Garg, Mrs. Suryakanta Vyas staged a sit-in at Voteclub Delhi According to the experience of the Rajasthani language and the demand for language recognition process, after this dharna, the lovers of Mayad language started putting pressure on the state and central government. 5. In 1994, the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan Mr. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat Under the chairmanship of Saubhagya Singh Shekhawat, the then president of the Rajasthani Language Literature and Culture Academy, Bikaner, a five-member committee constituted the Rajasthani Language Constitutional Recognition and Upgradation Committee, which presented its report to the Chief Minister on February 23, 1995. 6. Meanwhile, a delegation presented a copy of the Rajasthani language recognition memorandum written to the Prime Minister to Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, which had the signatures of 104 MLAs. 7. On November 29, 2000, the Education Secretary of Rajasthan Mr. SN Thanvi called a meeting for the recognition of Rajasthani language, in which many writers and intellectuals from all over the state attended, in this meeting, it was recommended to make Rajasthani language a constitutional recognition and second language of the state. Went. 8. Rajasthani litterateur Laxmandan Kaviya 'Khen formed the All India Rajasthani Language Recognition Struggle Committee in December 2000 and convened the first conference of this committee in Nagore and started an important initiative towards making this question of Mayad language recognition a mass movement. In the Nagaur conference, the founder of the committee Mr. Laxmandan Kavia presented his 21-point plan, on the basis of which a plan was made to form the struggle committee in all parts of Rajasthan, the struggle committee started working with new enthusiasm. Discussions about the mother tongue and its importance started with the litterateurs and the general public of the village. The issue of recognition of Rajasthani language became a topic of discussion among the people of every region and its positive result came out. 9. On March 03, 2004, on the call of Manyata Sangharsh Samiti, a one-day dharna was held at Statue Circle, Jaipur, in which mother tongue lovers from all over Rajasthan participated. Along with litterateurs, politicians, industrialists, film industry and personalities associated with education and journalism made this dharna effective and achieved success in conveying their intention to the government in the desired form. The delegation of Sangharsh Samiti, under the leadership of senior litterateur Rani Laxmikumari Yundawat, submitted its memorandum to the then Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot and requested to pass a unanimous resolution for language recognition, on which the Chief Minister assured. 10. Meanwhile, under a special campaign, the committee made a successful effort to contact MPs and MLAs to make them a part of the fight for recognition, which culminated in 2003. 11. On August 25, 2003, the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to add Rajasthani language to the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution and sent it to the Government of India. This can be said to be the biggest achievement in the long history of this movement. This Sankalpmatra, which is signed by all the 200 MLAs of Rajasthan, is a stepping stone in the path of inclusion of names in the Eighth Schedule. But the hungry can get satisfaction only by eating food. Delhi was far away then and even today. 12. The struggle committee continued its work. In 2005, the committee expanded its work and announced the formation of four new organizations under this banner, whose objective was to directly connect youth, educationists, journalists, filmmakers and women with the issue of Myadbhasha. 1. Rajasthani Gotyar Parishad for the youth, 2. Rajasthani Chintan Parishad for teachers, thinkers and journalists, 3. Rajasthani Film Parishad of film personalities and Rajasthani Gahila Parishad, the most enthusiastic organization to connect women power with this campaign. Mothchar Parishad Mothchar i.e. a group of young and enthusiastic youths is fighting for the recognition of Mayad language by forming units at every division, district and tehsil level. 13. The Sangharsh Samiti tried to connect every class to create an atmosphere in favor of Rajasthani language. In the year, two programs were decided on a large scale, one on February 21 for the recognition of the mother tongue, planning of protest memorandum and seminars at every division and district level and the other on March 30, on the occasion of Rajasthan Day, literary events, Kavi Sammelan, seminars etc. To organize. Similarly, on October 02, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, by doing Gukhapatti Satyagraha, tried to convince the government that Gandhiji had done Satyagraha for the freedom of the country. We are on the path of Satyagraha for our freedom of expression. These events promoted public engagement. Now people have started understanding the recognition of Rajrathani language and its meaning. 24. Seeing the laxity of action on the part of the Central Government, despite the resolution letter of the Rajasthan Government, the Committee started a Mayadbhasha Samman Rath Yatra on February 21, 2005. This yatra was a journey from Ganganagar to Delhi, in which this Mayadbhasha Samman Suchak Chariot reached Delhi in the first week of March, working to connect people with a special message in about 19 districts of the state. On March 03, 2005, the office bearers of the Sangharsh Samiti presented a memorandum to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil along with a delegation of several litterateurs, including MP Mrs. Prabha Thakur, Subhash Mahariya, VP Singh, and kept their name. Copies of the memorandum were sent to the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the Vice President. 15. During this, Rajasthani Language Literature and Culture Academy, Bikaner made important efforts for Rajasthani recognition under the leadership of the then President Mr. Dev Kothari. By organizing All India Rajasthani Literature Conference, Kolkata in January 2005 and All India Rajasthani Literature Conference, Hyderabad in December 2005, an environment was created for positive co-operation in this direction by the Akademi. 15. International Rajasthani Literature Conference was organized by the Academy on 13-14 December 2006 in Jaipur.
