5ire is an Indian blockchain technology ecosystem firm, founded in 2021.[1][2] The firm became India's 105th Unicorn with a valuation of $1.5 billion, In 2022.[3][4][5]

History

5ire was founded in 2021 by Pratik Gauri and Prateek Dwivedi.[6] The development of 5ireChain, began in 2021. 5ireChain is built on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. The firm raised $100 million in a Series A funding round in July 2022.[7]

Partnerships

Since 2022, 5ire has collaborated with governmental and non-governmental organizations.

In January 2022, 5ire announced their collaboration with AICTE to create the application, YourOneLife on 5irechain, in order to measuring happiness index in educational institutions.[8]

In January 2023, NITI Aayog announced a partnership with 5ire to launch ATL Blockchain Module, a mentorship and career exploration platform.[9] The project operates under the aegis of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM),[10] which has Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in more than 10,000 schools in India.[11]

In February 2023, Abu Dhabi University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with 5ire to collaborate on blockchain education, research, and entrepreneurship.[12][13]

In August 2023, Goa Police collaborated with 5ire to digitize its operations and utilization of paperless document and evidence storage system, by using blockchain infrastructure. By this collaboration, Goa Police would become the first police state in India to completely abandon paper.[14][15]

Awards and honors

In 2022, 5ire received the Best Tech Start-up of the Year Award in the Blockchain domain, by Entrepreneur Awards.[16] The firm also won the Best Blockchain Start-up of the Year Award at The Future Innovation Summit 2022.[17]
