I Can See Your Voice franchise

I Can See Your Voice is a Belgian Dutch-language television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme of the same name for the Flemish community. Since its premiere on 26 March 2022,[1][2] it has aired three seasons on VTM.

Gameplay

Format

Presented with a group of "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and contestants must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of several rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[lower-alpha 1]

Rewards

If the singer is good, the contestants win €2,500; if the singer is bad, the same amount is given to the bad singer instead.

Visual round

  • First impression (Dutch: Eerste indruk)
The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.[lower-alpha 2][lower-alpha 3][lower-alpha 4]

Lip sync round

  • Lip sync (Dutch: Lipsynchronisatie)
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to a recording of their own performance, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.[lower-alpha 2][lower-alpha 3][lower-alpha 4]

Evidence round

  • Test picture (Dutch: Testbeeld)

Background

DPG Media Belgium formally announced its development of the show in March 2021,[5][6] as it follows the successful broadcasts of The Masked Singer. It is produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production; the staff team is managed by producers Suzy Fayoumi and Annelies Siebens.

Tapings for the programme took place at VTM Studios in Vilvoorde.

Broadcast history

I Can See Your Voice debuted on 26 March 2022.[1][2] During first season broadcasts, the series has been already renewed for a second season[7] that premiered on 2 September 2022 and was prematurely ended on 23 September 2022, one week before The Voice van Vlaanderen premiered its eighth season. Also, the remaining episodes would subsequently create its third season, premiering on 5 May 2023.[lower-alpha 1] After that finale, the series has been already renewed for a fourth season.[14]
