Ice hockey at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics will place at the Gangneung Hockey Centre in Gangneung, South Korea from 20 to 31 January 2024.[1]

A total of four events will be contested: a men's and women's tournament (six teams per gender), alongside a 3x3 tournament for each gender. An NOC qualifying for the 6x6 tournament will qualify a squad of 18 athletes, an NOC qualifying for the 3x3 tournament will qualify a squad of 13 athletes, with host South Korea permitted to participate in both tournament, but of alternate genders.[2]

Qualification

IIHF Youth Ranking

The top eleven NOCs ranked in the combined ranking from the 2022 and 2023 editions of the IIHF World U18 Championships and IIHF World Women's U18 Championships, and host South Korea, will be allowed to enter a boys' or girls' team for the 6x6 or traditional tournament, with the top ranked country choosing in which gender's tournament could send a team. Each country can only enter one team of 18 players.For the 3x3 tournament,the countries placed 12th to 27th in rankings, including host South Korea, will field one team of 13 players in the 3x3 tournament, with the 12th ranked country choosing in which gender's tournament will send their team.As the host country,South Korea will had play in the opposite gender's 3x3 tournament of which it will play in the 6x6 tournament.[3]
