A city is not a well-defined legal division in the constitution of Sri Lanka. Cities in Sri Lanka are de facto referred to the Towns and Municipalities with a significant importance in economy, tourism or administration. However, "The State of Sri Lankan Cities Database" (SoSLC) has listed out a list of cities of Sri Lanka considering the report of State of Sri Lankan Cities 2018.
Cities Listed by SoSLC
The list contains the cities governed by a Municipal Council or an Urban Council among the cities listed by the SoLC. The Cities Governed by a pradeshiya sabha are excluded here.
