1 2 Lindenwood University and the University of Southern Indiana started transitions from the D-II Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2022–23 and joined the Ohio Valley Conference at that time. Both schools joined the Summit League in swimming and diving. Both Lindenwood and USI will become full D-I members in 2026–27.
↑ Stonehill College began transitioning out of the NCAA Division II Northeast-10 Conference in the 2022–23 season and will become a full D-I member of the NEC in the 2026–27 school year.
↑ Queens University began a transition from the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference in the 2022–23 season, and will become a full D-I member of the ASUN Conference in the 2026–27 school year.
↑ The University of California, San Diego moved to Division I in 2020, joining the Big West Conference for most sports, with full D-I membership in 2024–25. It is maintaining its MPSF membership in swimming & diving. UC San Diego will join the Big West in swimming when that conference adds men's and women's swimming & diving in 2024.

↑ The University of St. Thomas, which was expelled from the MIAC at the end of the 2020–21 school year, joined the Summit League starting in the 2021–22 season. St. Thomas has received an NCAA waiver allowing it to move directly from Division III to Division I on the four-year schedule used for transitions from Division II to Division I, thereby becoming a full D-I member in 2025–26.
