The Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak in Tychy (Polish: Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak w Tychach)[1][2][3] is a modern art museum and cultural institution established in 2013 by Henryk Jan Dominiak,[4][5] located in the center of Tychy[6][7][8][9][10] in Silesian Voivodeship, Poland.[11]
Description
The museum is run by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage,[12] and houses the works of professional artists from all over the world.[9]
The museum organizes traveling exhibitions[13][14][15][16] and philanthropic activities.[17][18][19][13][14]
It is one of the youngest and smallest museums in the world.[7][6][20][21]
The museum is housed on the ground floor of an apartment building on Street Żwakowska 8/66.[7][9][22][4][23]
Legal procedure
In consultation with the Legislative Department of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, which took place on 22 October 2013, the following departments were established in the Museum:[9][3]
Heritage
The aim of the Museum is to present and support contemporary art and artists, in particular art produced in Poland from the second half of the 20th century onwards. The exhibition includes collections of artworks created using various techniques, as well as historical collections of objects.[9] From 2013 to 2023, these collections bring together over 970 unique objects.[24]
The core of the collection is Polish miniature art (including painting, sculpture, drawing, and decorative art), though there are also numerous artworks from other countries. The museum houses works by artists from:

Collections
Painting
The collection showcased 101 paintings[29] that focus on a specific theme, including horses, scenes of military battles and soldiers, revolutionary figures, natural scenery, the ocean, sailboats and other nautical motifs, and of individual astronomical objects, or idea such as freedom, heroism, loss and wonder. Below are artworks shown in the museum.
- Miracle on the Vistula (Polish: Cud nad Wisłą); miniature painting by Anna Januszewicz-Pitlok; 2021; acrylic paint on anyolite (is a green zoisite and ruby); 22 × 44 mm; is the smallest in the world.[30][31][25] Is a painting that portrays events from the Battle of Warsaw in 1920 during the Polish-Soviet War, at which Polish troops (in the center of the painting is the Marshal of Poland Józef Piłsudski, who is visible in the horse) inflicted a decisive defeat on the Soviet Red Army and changed the course of European history[32]
- Battle of Racławice (Polish: Bitwa pod Racławicami); miniature painting by Wojciech Łuka; 2023; oil on malachite and lapis lazuli; 132 × 77 mm. The painting depicts the Battle of Racławice in April 1794, in which the Insurrection Army (the participation of peasant volunteers and townspeople, the scythemen,[33][34] armed with war scythes which you see in the background of this painting) under Tadeusz Kościuszko won over Russians, it was fought one of the first battles of the Polish-Lithuanian Kościuszko Uprising against Tsarist Russia[35]
- Battle of Cedynia (Polish: Bitwa pod Cedynią); miniature painting by Paweł Brodzisz; 2022; oil on lapis lazuli; 15 × 42 mm. One of the smallest paintings shows the Battle of Cedynia, in which an the army of Polans under the command of Mieszko I (Poland's first Christian ruler) defeated forces of Odo I, Margrave of the Saxon Eastern March of the Holy Roman Empire on 24 June 972, near the Oder river, which sealed Western Pomerania's fate as a Polish dependency[36]
- Storm (Polish: Sztorm); miniature painting by Robert Marek Znajomski; 2012; oil on canvas; 37 × 62 mm. This is an original nautical oil painting reminiscent of classic 19th century artworks and the standard formula for official marine painting.[37]
- Orion (Polish: Orion); miniature painting by Anna Januszewicz-Pitlok; 2021; ruby, lapis lazuli and howlite on sodalite; 31 × 19 mm. Artist she continued to experiment with collage and pasted the irregular minor free form plates and make own vision reflect the constellation Orion onto the a sodalite stone background resembling a defocused night sky with glittering lights. On the upper half of the work is Orion's Belt, (the Three Kings or Three Sisters),[38] it consists of the three bright stars Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka,[39] on the lower middle half of the work is the Orion Nebula and is known as the middle star in the sword of Orion[40]
Drawing
This custom collection contains 168 unique drawings.[41] It contains drawings of topics from Ukrainian, Slavic and European poets,[23] to Christianity and Jesus Christ,[21] to portraits and self portraits, many of them innovative,[41] or miniature illustrations of prehistoric creatures.[41]

- Taras Shevchenko (Ukrainian: Тарас Григорович Шевченко); miniature drawing by Volodymyr Goncharenko; 2014; pencil on paper; 15 × 12 mm. Microminiature original portrait of Taras Shevchenko's, both as writer and artist Ukraine's National.[45]
- The Stations of the Cross (is one of the smallest in the world);[6][46][47] 2021; black ink on paper; a set of the traditional 14 scenes (14 squares 15 x 15 mm), by Wojciech Łuka.[21] This schematic a series iconic stations, includes of 14 artistic drawings, that depicts the Passion of the Christ and His crucifixion in Jerusalem.[21] From the point of view of observer of the works, the calvarie, is the multi-scene, drama-like Passion of Christ. Illustrates images relating to the bearing of the cross. Depicting the mocking of Christ, hitting Him on the head with a reed and spitting on Him. Abounds with representations in his humiliation and subsequent scenes of the torments. Mary's suffering and compassion concerning her son. In images of the story the women of Jerusalem too appear and others close to Jesus.[48]
Sculpture
More than 49 small-scale artworks by local and international artists make up, an exhibition of sculptures miniature art in the museum.[49] Masterpieces on display include works by, among many others, dedicated of the fortified architecture, church, mining, the educational system, performance dance and animals.[49]
Symbolism and emblems

As social status symbols the museum it is a part of the world cultures builds on the collections of objects of the symbolism (52 that embody the history, culture, or identity of a place) and emblems (95 to represent the industries that manufacture the car and its parts, the bank institutions, different workplaces, political parties, the military, social associations, and religious institutions) from different corner of the world: Italy,[1] Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Canada, United States, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden and Hungary.[50]
