"Sweet / I Thought You Wanted to Dance" is a song by American rapper Tyler, the Creator, released on June 25, 2021 from his sixth studio album Call Me If You Get Lost. It features American singers Brent Faiyaz and Fana Hues. The song contains samples of "Is Anyone There?" by Hookfoot; and "Baby My Love", by The In Crowd and Jah Stitch.

Composition

The first half of the song is in the style of synth-pop[1][2] and R&B,[3] featuring synthesizers that "loop and swirl".[4] Toward the middle of the song, the beat switches to a style of reggae and dancehall rhythm.[1][3][5][6][7] The lyrics revolve around unrequited love;[8] the song's first half finds Tyler, the Creator daydreaming about his romantic interest, while the second half deals with his feelings of heartbreak and regret.[1][6] The song also incorporates elements of soft funk.[6][9]

The song contains a reverberating bass in the production and sees Tyler, the Creator boasting about his wealthy lifestyle and clothing line Golf Wang.
