Žár (German: Sohors) is a municipality and village in České Budějovice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 400 inhabitants.
Žár lies approximately 26 kilometres (16 mi) south-east of České Budějovice and 144 kilometres (89 mi) south of Prague.
