Allopeas gracile, common name the graceful awlsnail,[1] is a species of small, tropical, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Achatinidae.[2]
Distribution
Allopeas gracile occurs throughout the tropics and subtropics worldwide.[3]
- Hawaii & islands of Polynesia (naturalized)[4]
- West Indies[3]
- southern Mexico[3]
- Central and South America[3]
- Dominica - introduced.[3] First reported in 2009.[3]
- Tanzania[5]
It is also found living in greenhouses in other areas, as a "hothouse exotic".
