Anna Salman (born 18 September 1998) is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, and former vocalist of The All Girl Band.[1][2]

Early life and career

Born in Lahore, Salman started her musical journey with Nescafé Basement[3] in 2015. She performed the rendition of John Newman's number Love Me Again,[4][5] which was also lauded by the vocalist himself.[6] Since then, she has collaborated with a number of brands including Pepsi, Khaadi, Sapphire,[7] Levi's[8] and more. She also released her debut track "Middle of Nowhere"[9] on Levi's Live.[10] Her debut song was nominated at the Lux Style Awards in the category of Best Emerging Talent.[11][12] Salman and her band then released "Mera Nahi Hai," a track that garnered widespread appreciation.[13][14]

In 2021, Salman[15] parted ways with her all-girl band to pursue a solo path. She marked this transition by releasing her debut Urdu track, "Dur Nahi." This change also saw a shift in her musical genre from electronic to pop, resulting in the release of tracks like "I'd Like To Think," "Company," and "New York." Dur Nahi[16] received a Lux Style Awards nomination[17] once again, this time in the category of Song of the Year.

In 2023, Salman[18] made her US debut appearance at SXSW,[19][20] becoming the first Pakistani female artist to feature on this international music festival.

Salman also appeared at TEDx at LUMS with her band, The All Girl Band.[21]
