On March 25, 1975, Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (Arabic: فيصل بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود Fayṣal ibn ʿAbd al ʿAzīz Āl Suʿūd) was assassinated by his nephew Faisal bin Musaid Al Saud (Arabic: فيصل بن مساعد آل سعود)[1][2][3][4]

Assassination

On March 25, 1975, King Faisal was attending a meeting with the Kuwaiti oil minister in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, when his nephew, Faisal bin Musaid, suddenly entered the meeting room.[5]

Faisal recognised the prince and welcomed him with the typical Saud Family welcoming.[6]

The assassination happened fast. Bin Musaid reached in his pocket, took out a revolver and shot three bullets at the king's head. Not long after, Musaid was arrested by the Saudi military and later publicly executed.[7][8]

Meanwhile, the King was taken to the central hospital in Riyadh, where he died at around 14.00 Riyadh time.[9][10]
