Ben Carr MP (born 1986) is a Canadian politician who was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in a by-election on June 19, 2023. He is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He succeeded his father, Jim Carr, who died in office on December 12, 2022, as the representative for the federal riding of Winnipeg South Centre.[1]
Carr was one of several Liberal MPs who have publicly defended the state of Israel against charges of genocide after it invaded Gaza in 2023. He advocated against academic freedom to discuss the ramifications of the invasion at the University of Winnipeg.[2]
Carr has worked as the vice president of Indigenous Strategy Alliance, a consulting firm; as a high school teacher, coach, and principal; and as a former federal Liberal government staffer.[3]
