Carabus montivagus is a species of black coloured[1] beetle from family Carabidae, found in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, and all of the republics of the former Yugoslavia.[2]

There is a subspecies: Carabus montivagus montivagus.
