The Centrist Party of Canada is a minor federal political party in Canada.

History

The party was founded in 2020 by neurologist Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana.[1] It was registered with Elections Canada on August 25, 2021, shortly before the 2021 Canadian federal election.[2]

The party contested four seats in the 2021 election. Three candidates were in Toronto (Scarborough-Guildwood, Scarborough North, and Don Valley West), and one was in Calgary Skyview.[3]

The party also had a candidate in the 2023 Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount federal by-election, earning 2.35% of the vote.[4]

Party platform

In the 2021 election, the party advocated for government transparency, deployment of LNG in British Columbia, and increasing the age limit for the recreational use of marijuana.[1]
