David Herold (born 20 February 2003) is a German professional footballer who plays as a left-back for 2. Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC, on loan from Bayern Munich II. He has represented Germany at various youth levels internationally.
Club career
Herold is a youth product of JFG Region Krumbach, FC Memmingen and Bayern Munich. He began his senior career with Bayern Munich II in 2022. On 1 June 2022, he extended his contract with Bayern Munich II until 2024.[1] He joined the senior Bayern Munich team in the preseason tour in the summer of 2022.[2] On 6 February 2023, Herold joined the Austrian club Rheindorf Altach on loan for the second half of the 2022–23 season.[3] He made his senior and professional debut with Rheindorf Altach as a substitute in a 1–0 loss Austrian Bundesliga match against LASK on 12 February 2023.[4]
International career
Herold is a youth international for Germany, having played up to the Germany U19s.[5]
