Dreame Technology (Chinese: 追觅科技; referred to simply as Dreame[2]), with the full name Dreame Technology Co., Ltd., also known as Dreametech,[3] is a Chinese manufacturer of household appliances,[4] specializing in making vacuums.[5] Founded by Yu Hao in 2017,[6] the company's main products are cleaning and personal care appliances,[7] including cordless vacuums,[8] scrubbers, hairdryers, and robot vacuum and mops.[9] In addition, it owns and operates an app called Dreamehome.[10]
Outside of China, Dreame's products are available in Malaysia,[11] Australia,[12] the United States, Germany, among others.[13] After its establishment, the company was backed by Xiaomi,[14] IDG Capital,[15] Yunfeng Capital,[16] and Shunwei Capital.[17] In October 2021, it raised $563 million in Series C funding co-headed by CPE and Huaxing Growth Capital.[18]
History
The company originated as a campus organization called "Skyworks".[19] In 2017, Dreame was officially formed. In December 2018, the firm launched its first product,[20] the V9, a cordless vacuum cleaner.[21]
In 2020, Dreame developed a 150,000-rpm digital motor.[22] In August, it secured an investment from IDG Capital.[23] In December, its Suzhou smart factory started operations.[24]
In October 2021, Dreame received $563 million in a Series C round.[25] In the same month, it reached a partnership with Borussia Dortmund.[26] The company introduced its first robot vacuum-mop in January 2022.[27] In September, it exhibited at the IFA.[28]
