NBA Sunday Showcase is a series of Sunday afternoon broadcasts of National Basketball Association (NBA) games that are produced by ESPN and televised on the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). The Sunday Showcase season usually begins on Super Bowl Sunday, but in 2021, it began two weeks after Super Bowl LV on February 21, 2021.
Overview
Until 2023, the Sunday Showcase games were primarily called by Mark Jones and Doris Burke.[1]
In August 2023, ESPN announced their newly-formed second core broadcast team, consisting of Ryan Ruocco as play-by-play commentator and JJ Redick and Richard Jefferson as game analysts, will call the NBA Sunday Showcase games starting with the 2023–24 season.[2]
There are other NBA Sunday games also being played outside of the series aired by the ESPN networks, those games are branded as NBA Sunday and those games are primarily Sunday primetime games currently airing on ESPN during the second half of the season.[3]
