Emmanuel Ibru (born 1962[1]) is a Nigerian businessman and football administrator.[2][3][4] He is the Chief executive officer of Aden River Estates Limited, an agro-industrial subsidiary of the Ibru Organization.[5] He is also the President of the Nigeria-Brazil chamber of commerce and Industry.[6][7]
Background and education
Emmanuel Ibru is the son of Michael Ibru, founder of the Ibru Organization and Patriarch of the Ibru family.[8][9] He attended Millfield between 1976 and 1980 for A-level and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Skidmore college, New York, in 1984. He obtained an MBA in finance from Atlanta University business school in 1988.[10]
Career
Ibru is the Group Executive Director of the Ibru Organization, a private multinational conglomerate with interests in shipping, fishing, agriculture, banking, aviation, port operations, oil & gas, amongst others.[11][12]
He is the founder/president of AS Racine FC that has produced stars like Peter Odemwingie, Brown Ideye, Fegor Ogude, Onyekachi Okonkwo and Olubayo Adefemi.[13][14][15] He is also a co-owner of Bridge F.C. Lagos.[16] He served on the executive board of the Nigeria Football Federation.[17][18][19]
Ibru is the Chairman of the Plantation Owners Forum Of Nigeria (POFON), POFON is a body of the largest plantation and industrial Palm oil and Rubber producers with Okomu Oil, Presco Plc, PZ Wilmar, Siat Nigeria Limited, Aden River Estates, Dufil, JB Farms, IMC and Agripalm (Flour Mills of Nigeria) as members.[20][21]
Personal life
He is a member of Ikoyi Club, Metropolitan Club and Apapa Club.[22] Ibru is the former president of Apapa Club and the present commodore of the Apapa Boat Club.[23]
