Freren (German pronunciation: [ˈfʁeːʁən] ) is a municipality in the ⓘEmsland district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 15 km east of Lingen.
Freren is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Freren.
