Gazi Erçel (20 February 1945 – 13 June 2022) was a Turkish banker.
Career
He served as the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey from 1996 to 2001, after being appointed to that position by Süleyman Demirel. He resigned from his position during the 2001 Turkish economic crisis.[1]
Death
Erçel died of complications from COVID-19 on 13 June 2022, at the age of 77.[2][3]
