Gorno Strogomište (Macedonian: Горно Строгомиште, Albanian: Drogomisht i Madh) is a village in the municipality of Kičevo, North Macedonia. It used to be part of the former Zajas Municipality.

Demographics

The village is attested in the 1467/68 Ottoman tax registry (defter) for the Nahiyah of Kırçova. The village had a total of 36 houses, excluding bachelors (mucerred).[1]

As of the 2021 census, Gorno Strogomište had 699 residents with the following ethnic composition:[2]

  • Albanians 611
  • Persons for whom data are taken from administrative sources 88

According to the 2002 census, the village had a total of 1,123 inhabitants.[3] Ethnic groups in the village include:[3]
