Goud/Gowda is a social grouping of castes from the Indian states of Telangana,Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka . They are traditionally involved in ayurvedic medicine and agriculture. However, they are also involved in many modern occupations.They are historically classified as Somavansh Kshatriyas .Gouds are rapidly developing and are one of the dominant communities of Telangana and Karnataka in socio economic and political status.[2]
