Hotline TNT is an American indie rock band from New York City, fronted by Will Anderson. They have released two full-length albums, Nineteen in Love (2021) and Cartwheel (2023).
History
Hotline TNT is the project of Minnesotan songwriter Will Anderson, who was previously in the Vancouver based band Weed.[1] After relocating to New York City, Anderson started Hotline TNT. He is the sole permanent member of the band, and is joined by a rotating backing band; during performances, Anderson has been joined by Jack Kraus and Maria Sepulveda on guitar, Mike Ralston on drums, and Sarah Ellington on bass.
Following the release of three EPs (Cool If I Crash, Fireman's Carry, and Go Around Me) from 2018 to 2019, the band released their first full-length album, 2021's Nineteen in Love, through California label Smoking Room.[1] In 2022, the band self-released the EP When You Find Out. In 2023, the band signed to Third Man Records,[2] and released their second full-length album Cartwheel.[3] Cartwheel was named "Best of the Week" from Paste Magazine,[4] and also received "Best New Music" distinction from Pitchfork.[5]
In addition to being a musician, Anderson also writes the zine Association Update and has been a talk show host.[6]
