Ilakkiya is an 2022 Indian Tamil-language television series starring Hima Bindhu and Nandan Loganathan and Produced by Saregama.[2] It was premiered on 10 October 2022 airing on Sun TV from Monday to Saturday. It is also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.[3][4]T series an official remake of Zee Tv blockbuster series Bhagya Lakshmi.

Plot

The show revolves around Ilakkiya, a Bold and beautiful Ilakkiya finds happiness in making others happy. She is kind-hearted naive middle classe, who gets married to a circumstance leads to her tying the knot with her friend, who is businessman named Gowtham. Can Ilakkiya create her destiny, despite Gautham's controlling aunt Bairavi and her conniving cousin Anjali?

Development

The series is a Family love story. produced by Saregama that airs on Sun TV. Saregama added, "While two of my shows (Roja and Anbe Vaa) are already on-air and doing immensely well on Sun TV. This is the 15th serial produced for Sun TV."

Casting

Nandan Loganathan[5] was cast in the male lead role as Gowtham and Hima Bindu cast as the female lead role as Ilakkiya. In end of December 2023, Actress Hima Bindu was quit the series,[6] was replaced by Shambhavy Gurumoorthy as Ilakkiya.[7] Actress Roopa Sree was cast as Janaki but on she quit the series and it was replaced by Gayathiri Shashtry. Actor Bharath Kalyan was cast as Venkataraman Karthik and Aishwarya's father.

Rani selected to portray the role of Bhairavi (Gowtham's aunt) who played an negative role, but in January 2023 she quit the series and it was replaced by Priya Prince after her role as Menaka in Kannana Kanne[8] and Sushma Nair cast as Anjali in a Negative role. In July 2023, Jay Srinivas Kumar had quit the series and it was replaced by Aravish Kumar Cast as Karthik.[9][10][11]
