Jochem Ritmeester van de Kamp (born 2 November 2003) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Almere City.

Career

Born in Laren, an affluent town in North Holland,[2][3] Ritmeester van de Kamp started playing football for local club Laren '99 before he was admitted to the Almere City youth academy in 2013.[2] He signed his first professional contract in March 2022; a three-year deal.[4]

Ritmeester van de Kamp made his professional debut on 11 March 2022 in an Eerste Divisie match against Helmond Sport. He started the game on the bench, but head coach Alex Pastoor gave him his debut in the 85th minute when he came on for Tim Receveur.[5] His late substitute against Helmond remained his only appearance for the first team in the 2021–22 season, as Almere finished in a disappointing 14th place.[6][7]

On 20 January 2023, Ritmeester van de Kamp scored his first professional goal in a league game against De Graafschap, helping his side to a 2–2 home draw.[8] During that 2022–23 season, Almere City notably improved, securing third place in the league. He played a part in their success by scoring twice in 14 appearances. Additionally, he contributed in six playoff matches, aiding the team in their historic promotion by defeating Emmen in the play-off finals.[9]

Ritmeester van de Kamp made his debut in the Eredivisie for Almere City on 13 August 2023, starting in a 4–1 home defeat against Twente.[10][11] On 27 August, he scored his first Eredivisie goal in Feyenoord's dominant 6–1 victory over Almere City.[12] He notched his second Eredivisie goal against a struggling Ajax side on 12 November, aiding his team in securing a 2–2 draw.[3]
