A former student in Harvard University's Harvard Radcliffe Institute in the publishing program and from a wealthy New England family, he was then hired by Rolling Stone as an advertiser. Afterward he began working for as Vice President of Paramount Pictures.[2] At Paramount, he was responsible for John Travolta's motion picture Urban Cowboy in 1980.
Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol dated Gould for five years in the 1980s. Gould eventually moved in with Warhol into his townhouse on East 66th Street in Manhattan. Warhol made a portrait of Gould in 1981.[3] He is considered Warhol's last great love.[4] Gould is the most photographed subject of Warhol's later career.[5] Christopher Makos is said to have matched Gould with Warhol in exchange for a watch. Gould had a certain pedigree that attracted the artist. As Bob Colacello would write, "Old money, Harvard, Hollywood it was a résumé that Andy couldn't resist. And there was something else about Jon Gould that drew Andy toward him: like Jed Johnson, [Warhol's previous boyfriend] he had a twin brother named Jay."
Personal life
Gould has a twin brother, Jay Gould.[6] Gould had an immense collection of Warhol's works which was shown at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center in Vermont.[7]
