Joshua Woo Sze Zeng is a Malaysian politician. A member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), he has been the member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly representing Pulau Tikus since 2023.
Early life
Woo was born in Penang Island but moved to Bukit Mertajam when he was 2.[1]
Education
Woo is a Master of Sustainable Development Management from Sunway University.[2]
Early career
Woo worked in Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore for more than 13 years before returning to Malaysia in 2015.
Political career
Woo was invited to join DAP in 2008 by future Member of Parliament for Bayan Baru, Sim Tze Tzin. He had also campaigned for Berapit candidate Ong Kok Fooi in the 2008 Penang state election. He is currently the Secretary of DAP Jalan Tembikai branch. He was also a member of Seberang Perai City Council.[1][3]
Participation in NGOs
Woo established Generasi Penang, an NGO aimed to provide more opportunities for young Penangites to show their talents. He is also currently the Chairman of Sustainable Malaysia Association, an NGO that he had established, aimed to advocate social, ecological and economic development.
