Lee Chin Chen (simplified Chinese: 李政贤; traditional Chinese: 李政賢; pinyin: Lǐ Zhèngxián) is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Deputy Speaker of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly since December 2022 and Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bilut since May 2018. He served as the State Leader of the Opposition of Pahang from July 2018 to October 2022 and the MLA for Ketari from May 2013 to May 2018. He is a member, Member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) and State Secretary of Pahang of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. He created history as the first Deputy Speaker of non-Malay ethnicity.[1]

Controversies and issues

In February 2023, a photo of Lee committing a traffic offence went viral on social media. The photo showed Lee's car violating a "No Entry" sign. Lee issued a statement that he was cooperating with the police investigation, and had received a summons which he would pay. The Bentong district police chief issued a statement confirming that a summons had been issued under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act (RTD) 1987.[2]
