Lewis Township is one of eleven townships in Clay County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,464 and it contained 632 housing units.[3]

History

Lewis Township was organized in the 1840s. It was named for Lewis Cass.[4]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 44.22 square miles (114.5 km2), of which 44.05 square miles (114.1 km2) (or 99.62%) is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 km2) (or 0.38%) is water.[3]
