Mannadiyar (or Mannadiar) is a title and last name originating among zamindar of south India

Etymology

Mannadiar is an honorific title possessed by ancient landlords Of Kongu Vellalar Gounder. The word is rooted from Mun or Maṇṇú (earth) and Nēṭiyavar or uṭayōr (lords, Jenmi or earners) clubbed to form Mannadiars.[1]

History

Mannadiyar is a title, which is part of zamindars of Kongu Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Traditions and customs

There are some rituals and ceremonies which closely resemble that of Kongu Vellalar zamins of Kongu Nadu.[2]
