NBC News Now is a free streaming service launched May 29, 2019, under Janelle Rodriguez, Senior Vice President of Editorial for NBC News and MSNBC. Initially operated without an anchor until they hired Alison Morris, formerly of Fox 5 in New York, starting on July 1, 2019. The OTT services was announced in October 2018 as NBC News Signal with Simone Boyce original tapped as the evening (7 PM) host with two MSNBC as acting as hosts.[1][2]
The channel broadcasts rolling news on weekdays from 5am ET until early evening with NBC news magazines, including Dateline NBC and Meet the Press, shown overnight and at the weekend, and if major breaking news occurs outside of its weekday live broadcasts, the channel simulcasts the UK-based Sky News.
The service is streamed live on YouTube internationally as well as on the Peacock streaming service in the US and Canada.
During 2022 and 2023, NBC News Now aired as a linear channel in the UK. It launched in March 2022 on Sky[3] and a week later on Virgin Media.[4] In December 2023, it was removed from Sky TV,[5] and closed on Virgin Media on December 31, 2023.
