Night Train Media GmbH & Co KG, also known as NTM, is a Munich-based production company founded by Herbert L. Kloiber.[1][2][3][4] Its production include projects The Holiday, Vikings: The Rise and Fall, Rogue Agent, and The Box.[5]
Overview
It was founded in 2020 by Herbert L. Kloiber. Prior to this, Kloiber worked as managing director at Tele München Group or TMG.[2][4] NTM focuses on international commercial films, series, and documentaries in English and regional languages.[2][3] The production company offers development, licensing, co-production, and co-financing services, and works with third-party distributors.[1][6][7][8]
In 2020, Night Train Media signed its first strategic partnership with the Scandinavian Nordic Entertainment Group (Viaplay).[1][2][3] In September of the same year, the group received long-term investment from the private equity fund Serafin Group.[9] Later, in July 2021, NTM acquired a majority stake in non-scripted London distributor BossaNova.[10]
In September 2020, Night Train Media announced the co-development of The Ex-Wife, which was picked up as one of the first Paramount+ UK series in April 2022.[8][4][11]
Night Train Media acquired Swedish scripted distributor Eccho Rights in July 2022 from the Korean media group CJ ENM.[12] NTM bought the majority stake and its founder and CEO, Herbert L. Kloiber, became the chairman of Eccho Rights.[13][14][15][16]
NTM has been involved in several notable productions, including The Catch, another adaptation by the author of The Holiday, TM Logan, The Box for Viaplay, Deadline, and documentaries on Edvard Munch’s The Scream and Missile from the East for Sky Documentaries.[17][6][7][18] NTM has also co-produced Vikings: The Rise and Fall , which was acquired worldwide by NatGeo in 2022.[19][20][21]
NTM’s first feature film Rogue Agent was announced in 2021, starring James Norton and Gemma Arterton.[22] The film was theatrically released by IFC on August 12th, 2022.[11]
