Obovaria subrotunda, commonly called the round hickorynut, is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels.
Distribution and conservation status
This species is native to eastern North America.
The Canadian Species at Risk Act listed it in the List of Wildlife Species at Risk as being endangered in Canada.[3]
It was listed as a federally threatened species of the United States under the Endangered Species Act in 2023.[4][5]
