Opus Kink is an English post-punk band formed in Brighton in 2017, consisting of Angus Rogers, Sam Abbo, Fin Abbo, Jazz Pope, Jed Morgans, and Jack Banjo Courtney.[1] The band has released three EPs Requiem For a Quarantine (2020), Til the Stream Runs Dry (2022) and My Eyes, Brother! (2023).[2]

History

Opus Kink was formed in 2017.[1] Angus has known Jazz since childhood, and Fin and Sam are brothers. Johnny got to know each other by teaching Jazz and Fin music in college, and joined the band.[3] Regarding their band name Opus Kink, Angus interviewed that he misheard "hopeless c**t," a swear word he received from someone else, and decided to name it a band name.[4] They released the single Faster Than the Radio / Mosquito in 2019.[1] In 2020, they released their first EP Requiem For a Quarantine.[5]

In 2022, they released the EP Til the Stream Runs Dry.[6] They released the singles Dust and 1:18, for their new EP in 2023, with Brighton Sextet describing their music as "a loose collection of dream and nightmare sequences."[7] On 19 May 2023, their EP My Eyes, Brother! was released.[2][8]
