Osborne /ˈɒzbɔːrn/, along with Osbourne, Osbern, Osborn and Usborne, is an English name cognate with, and possibly influenced by the Old Norse Ásbjørn. The English Os (see Ós) and the Norse Ás (see Aesir) mean God, while bjørn means bear in Norse.[1]
Sberna and Sberno are the Sicilian-Norman version of the name Osborne-Osbern, (Norman invasion of Sicily and south of Italy, 11th–12th century).
