Ponguru Narayana, is an Indian educationist turned politician in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.[2] He was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 2014 and served as the Minister for Municipal administration and Urban development & Urban Housing.[3] Elected MLC under Telugu Desam Party.[4][5] He is the founder of the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions.[6][7]
Early Life and Education
Narayana was born on June 15, 1957, into a Telugu speaking family of Ponguru Subbaramayya, and Subamma in Harnathapuram, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Narayana studied B.A. in Mathematics and Statistics from V. R. College at Nellore in 1977, and subsequently earned his MSc. (1979) and Ph.D. (2002) in Statistics from Sri Venkateswara University and worked as a Senior Lecturer. He is Married to Ramadevi with whom he has three children.[8]
