Coaches

The 18421 / 22 Puri–Ajmer Junction Express has one AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, nine sleeper class, seven general unreserved & two SLR (seating with luggage rake) coaches . It carries a pantry car.

Traction

As this route is going to be electrified, a Vadodara / Visakhapatnam based WAP-7 electric locomotive pulls the train from Puri up to Ahmedabad Junction, then a Bhagat Ki Kothi based WDP-4 / WDP-4B / WDP-4D diesel locomotive pulls the train to its destination i.e, Ajmer Junction.
