Red Banks is a census-designated place and unincorporated community located in Marshall County, Mississippi, United States.[2]
History
Red Banks' name is derived from the color of the banks of the creek the community is located on. In 1900, the community had a population of 79, two churches and a cotton gin.[3]
Red Banks is located on the BNSF Railway and was incorporated on March 14, 1899.[4] Its post office first began operating in 1847.[5]
It was first named as a CDP in the 2020 Census which listed a population of 215.[6]

Notable people
- Gus Cannon, blues musician who helped to popularize jug bands. Best known for his 1929 song Walk Right In that became a popular hit in 1963 when recorded by the folk music group, The Rooftop Singers.[9]
- Frank C. Rand, businessman and philanthropist. President of the International Shoe Company from 1916 to 1930 and its chairman from 1930 to 1949.[10]
