Sar Jangal (Persian: سرجنگل) is a city in, and the capital of Kurin District of Zahedan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran,[3] and also serves as the administrative center for Kurin Rural District.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 261 in 45 households, when it was a village in Kurin Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 490 people in 114 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,790 people in 501 households, by which time it was the largest village in its rural district.[2] After the census, the village was elevated to the status of a city.[7]
