Tehadiso (Ge'ez: ተሃድሶ, meaning "renaissance" or "reformation")[1][2] is a group of reformed Christian movement within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church based on Evangelical Protestant theology.[3] It has church position of archbishops, bishops, priests, deacons and monks which operates in both Exiled-Synod and the Holy-Synod.[4][5]

The earliest Tehadiso church was Medhanialem Tehadiso Church founded in 1946. Headed by Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarch Abune Mathias, the church holds several several traditional rites and rituals, such as the blessing of the water of life ceremony and the observance of fasting. The movement is one of the most controversial within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Mahibere Kidusan, who believed it is "heretical" and spread globalization, secularization, and ecumenism in the church.[6][7]
