The Man with the Donkey is a 1938 Australian radio drama by Henry Pauli about John Simpson Kirkpatrick and his donkey during World War One. It aired on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1938.[3]

The play was produced again on the ABC on Anzac Day in 1945[4] and 1951.[5]

Premise

According to the press release "In his play, Mr. Pauli re-creates the circumstances of the landing, and pays a clear tribute to “the man with the donkey” the man who was some times called “Scotty” and sometimes “Murphy,” though actually he was born in Durham, England."[6]
