The Way is an upcoming British television series currently in development at Little Door Productions with Red Seam, created by James Graham, Michael Sheen and Adam Curtis, with Sheen directing from a Graham script and starring Luke Evans and Callum Scott Howells.
Synopsis
A civil uprising beginning in a small industrial town causing a family to flee.[1]

Production
Development
In February 2023 it was announced that the BBC were on board the project written by James Graham and directed by Michael Sheen, created by Sheen and Graham with Adam Curtis. Derek Ritchie is producer and Bethan Jones is executive producing for Red Seam, and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC. ITV Studios is international distributor and additional funding has been provided by the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.[2]
Filming
Filming took place at the Shire Hall, Monmouth in May 2023.[3] The bulk of the filming on the three-part series is scheduled for Port Talbot,[4] with reports that the production will spend nine weeks in Port Talbot between April and June, 2023.[5]
Casting
The production is said to be using Port Talbot locals in certain acting roles and as extras, as well as in behind-the-scenes roles.[6] In May 2023 Luke Evans and Callum Scott Howells were announced in the cast.[7]
Broadcast
The series will air in the United Kingdom on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer and is expected in 2024.[8][9]
