Udi Segal

Udi Segal (Hebrew: אודי סגל) (born January 20, 1971) is an Israeli journalist and television anchor. He hosts the main news broadcast of Channel 13.[1]

Biography

Udi Segal was born in Dimona and grew up in Tel Mond. He majored in biology at Ruppin High School.

Segal has a BA in business administration and teaches in the Department of Communications at Reichman University.

Journalism career

Segal joined the IDF in 1999 and served as a military correspondent and later as a political correspondent. After five years in this position, he was sent to New York to work as an overseas correspondent for Galei Zahal and Maariv.[2]

In August 2017, he joined Channel 13 and hosted "Before the News," an evening news program.

In 2019, he presented a weekly morning program on Galei Zahal co-hosted with Keren Marciano and later Doria Lampel. In March 2020, he began to appear as the news anchor of Channel 13, together with Tamar Ish-Shalom, and later Hila Korah.

In September 2022, he joined Ynet Radio and hosted a daily morning program with Doria Lampel. At the end of April 2023, the program was taken off the air due to budget cuts. In March 2023, he replaced Ayala Hasson as presenter of the Friday night news on Channel 13.
