Walter Wolf is a Croatian brand of cigarettes. It is currently owned and manufactured by the Tvornica Duhana Rovinj.

History

The brand was introduced in the 1990s during the Yugoslav Wars. It was introduced in the market with the movement of refugees to Central Europe.

Pack design

The design of the logo, a red W with the stylized injected relief of a Wolf, emerged in the 1970s in Switzerland.[1] From the 2000s onwards, the design has been subject to intellectual property rights protection.[1]

The design of the packaging is dark blue with gold lettering and the words "Walter Wolf". The design remained virtually unchanged until 2012, when it became necessary to introduce a variation of the brand name for trade reasons.[2]

The cigarettes carry the name of the Austrian businessman Walter Wolf.[3] The logo was also used in the Formula 1 racing team Walter Wolf Racing, as well as for perfumes and wines.[4]

Formula 1

The brand was the title sponsor in the Formula 1 with the name of team - Walter Wolf Racing, for a spam of 2 years making its debut in 1977 and exiting in 1979.

Walter Wolf cigarettes were or are still sold in the following countries: Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Bulgaria.[5][6][7]
