Bagh Safa (Persian: باغ صفا, also Romanized as Bāgh Şafā; also known as Bāgh-e Seyāh, Bāgh-e Sīāh, and Bāgh Seyāh)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Bagh Safa District of Sarchehan County, Fars province, Iran,[4] and also serves as the administrative center for Bagh Safa Rural District.[5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 864 in 211 households, when it was a village in Bagh Safa Rural District of the former Sarchehan District of Bavanat County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 964 people in 280 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 908 people in 276 households.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Sarchehan County and divided into the Central District containing Tujerdi Rural District, Sarchehan Rural District, and the cities of Hesami and the new capital, Korehi; and Bagh Safa District containing Bagh Safa Rural District and the new Arzhang Rural District.[4] The county was further divided later when Tujerdi Rural District was separated from the Central District to establish Tujerdi District, which was divided into two rural districts including the new Marvashkan Rural District. At the same time, Hesami Rural District was established in the Central District and the capital of the county was moved from Korehi to Hesami.[8] The village of Bagh Safa was elevated to the status of a city.[9]
