All 46 members of Cumberland Council, a unitary authority in England, are elected every four years.
Political control
The first election to the council was held in 2022, initially operating as a "shadow authority" until 1 April 2023 when the new council came into effect and took over the functions of the abolished Cumbria County Council and the three district councils of Allerdale Borough Council, Carlisle City Council and Copeland Borough Council. Political control of the council since 2023 has been held by the following parties:[1]
